Overview

What is Herself?

Herself is an iPhone app that turns what you want into a one-minute audio scene where your moment has already gone well, read by an AI voice made from a 15-second recording of your own voice. It is a self-practice tool for calm and confidence — not therapy, not medical care, and it doesn't promise results.

Most affirmation apps hand you a sentence someone else wrote. Herself starts with you: what you want — to believe in yourself, love, calm about money, a new job, a home of your own — and a line in your own words. From that it builds a short scene you can play in the morning, before the big conversation, or at night.

The scene is read in a voice made from yours. Before each chapter you read a fresh 15 seconds aloud; the recording is deleted right after the voice copy is made, and the voice copy is deleted within an hour after your scene.

What makes it different: instead of a library of generic lines, you get chapters — the first right away, the second on day 4, then a new one every week, built from what changed for you. Your line of the day sits on your Lock Screen and Home Screen widget, and a 20-second version of your own lines plays on repeat for right before the hard moment.

Audience

Who Herself is built for

Wanting to believe in yourself

If the loudest voice in your head is the critical one, Herself gives you a minute of hearing a different version — your moment going well, in a voice that sounds like yours.

Before a big conversation

Play your scene before the talk you've been putting off, or use the 20-second version of your own lines on repeat right before you walk in.

Looking for a new job

Tell Herself it's about work, add a line in your own words, and listen to your scene in the morning before applications or an interview.

Wanting calm about money

Money worry can be constant background noise. A one-minute scene at night is a small, deliberate pause from it.

Love and a home of your own

Personal hopes — love, a place that's yours — are the kind of thing Herself is built around. You choose the goal; the scene is written from your answers.

Adults who want something short

Herself is for adults 18+. Each scene is about a minute, and your line of the day lives on a widget, so the practice fits into a normal day.

In practice

Moments where Herself fits

The morning before an interview

You set your goal to a new job and wrote one line about how you want to show up. Over coffee you play the one-minute scene; in the lobby, the 20-second version of your own lines on repeat.

The conversation you've been avoiding

Before a hard talk with someone close, you listen to your scene of it going well. It doesn't script the other person — it gives you a calmer minute before you start.

The money worry at night

Instead of scrolling, you play your scene about feeling calm about money as part of winding down. Your line of the day is waiting on your Lock Screen in the morning.

A line that doesn't sound like you

One sentence in a new chapter feels off. You change it for free and re-voice the scene within the hour, so it says what you actually mean.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

What is Herself?

Herself is an iPhone app that turns what you want into a one-minute audio scene where your moment has already gone well, read by an AI voice made from a 15-second recording of your own voice. It is a self-practice tool for calm and confidence, with new chapters over time and your line of the day on a widget.

Will Herself make what I want happen?

No app can promise that, and Herself does not. It is a self-practice tool: a calm minute of hearing your moment go well, in a voice that sounds like yours, before the conversation, interview or evening you are thinking about. What happens next is still up to life and to you.

How does the AI voice work?

Before each chapter you read a short text aloud for 15 seconds. Herself makes a voice copy from that recording and uses it to read your scene. The voice copy only ever reads your own scenes.

What happens to my voice recording?

The 15-second recording is deleted right after your voice copy is made. The voice copy is deleted within an hour after your scene. That is why you read a fresh 15 seconds before each chapter. Your scenes stay on your iPhone, and you can delete them and withdraw consent anytime in Settings.

How often do I get a new chapter?

Your first chapter arrives right away, the second on day 4, and then a new chapter every week, built from what changed for you. If you want more than one a week, extra chapters are one-time purchases while your plan is active, and they never expire.

Can I change the words in my scene?

Yes. You can change any sentence of your scene for free, and re-voice it once within an hour.

Is Herself therapy?

No. Herself is not therapy or medical care. If you are struggling with anxiety, low mood or anything that feels bigger than a self-practice app, please talk to a qualified professional. If you are in crisis, call or text 988 (US) or your local emergency number.

Who is Herself for?

Adults 18 and over who want a short, personal practice for calm and confidence — for example around believing in yourself, love, feeling calmer about money, a new job or a home of your own.

How much does Herself cost?

Herself Plus is an auto-renewing subscription. Weekly: 7-day free trial for new subscribers, then $7.99 per week. Yearly: $39.99 per year, no free trial. Extra chapters are separate one-time purchases. Subscriptions renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; manage them in Settings › Apple ID › Subscriptions.

How is Herself different from I am or ThinkUp?

I am shows short affirmations from a large library on your screen and widgets, with a free download. ThinkUp lets you record affirmations in your own real voice over music, with a free version. Herself writes a one-minute scene from your own answers and reads it in an AI voice made from yours. It needs a fresh 15-second recording each chapter and has no free tier beyond the trial.

Give the mic to a kinder voice — one that sounds like yours.
