Refluxora — the reflux tracker that remembers your throat

Most reflux apps track heartburn and stop there. Silent reflux (LPR) shows up as throat clearing, hoarseness, a lump-in-the-throat feeling or chronic cough — often with no heartburn at all. Refluxora keeps meals, classic GERD symptoms and throat or voice symptom scores in one record, helps you think through a meal from a photo, and exports a clean report for your appointment.

Overview

What is Refluxora?

Refluxora is an educational tracking app for people with GERD or LPR (silent reflux) who want to understand meals, symptoms and lab results — and keep the useful details in one place for their doctor or ENT.

Reflux is personal. Coffee wrecks one person's evening and does nothing to another. Generic "foods to avoid" lists help at the start, but what actually matters is your own pattern — which is only visible if meals and symptoms are recorded together, over time.

Refluxora starts with one question at a time: describe a meal or take a photo of it, photograph a lab result you already have, or record how you feel. It gives an explanation where it can, saves the observation and shows a clear next step. It is honest about limits — one photo cannot reveal every ingredient or establish your personal triggers, and missing lab units or reference ranges are never guessed.

What it is not: Refluxora does not diagnose GERD, LPR, Barrett's esophagus or anything else, does not prescribe PPIs, H2 blockers or alginates, and does not replace a gastroenterologist or ENT. AI output may be incomplete or incorrect. It is a tracker and an explainer that makes the appointment more useful.

Audience

Who Refluxora is built for

People with classic heartburn (GERD)

Burning after meals, worse lying down, a sour taste. Log meals and symptoms together and see which evenings go badly — instead of guessing.

People with silent reflux (LPR)

Throat clearing, hoarseness, postnasal drip feeling, chronic cough, a lump in the throat. Refluxora includes throat and voice symptom scores — the things an ENT will ask about.

Singers, teachers and heavy voice users

When your voice is your job, hoarseness is not a minor symptom. Track voice scores alongside meals, late eating and other factors you record.

Newly told to "watch your diet"

Explore a meal before or after you eat it and get one practical food consideration — fat content, acidity, portion or timing — rather than a 200-item forbidden list.

Preparing for a GI or ENT appointment

Export a report of meals, symptoms and throat scores so the specialist sees weeks of data, not a two-minute recollection.

Privacy-minded users

No app account required. Selected text and photos are processed in the cloud only after your consent.

What Refluxora does that most reflux apps don't

Workflow

How to find your reflux triggers — a 4-week tracking framework

Food and symptom diaries are one of the most practical tools for reflux. This is the simple routine Refluxora is designed for.

  1. Week 1 — record, don't change anything.Log what you eat and how you feel, including throat and voice symptoms if you have them. Note timing — late dinners and lying down soon after eating matter as much as the food itself. Resist the urge to cut everything at once.
  2. Week 2 — explore the meals that worry you.Photograph or describe the meals you suspect. Read the food consideration, eat as planned, then record how you felt 1–3 hours later. Mark meals as planned or eaten so you can see intention versus reality.
  3. Week 3 — test one change at a time.Pick one variable — an earlier dinner, smaller portions, less coffee — and keep everything else stable for a few days. One change at a time is the only way to learn what actually helps you.
  4. Week 4 — review and ask.Look back at your meals, symptoms and throat scores. Ask the AI assistant about specific saved observations. Write down the questions it helps you form.
  5. Before your appointment — export the report.Bring the report to your gastroenterologist or ENT. If you are already on a PPI or other medication, note how symptoms changed since starting it — that is exactly what the specialist needs.

In practice

Situations where Refluxora helps

Illustrative examples of how the features fit into a day, not user reviews.

The singer with a morning croak

Dana, a choir teacher, woke up hoarse most mornings but rarely had heartburn. After three weeks of logging meals and voice scores in Refluxora, the pattern pointed at late, heavy dinners. She brought the report to her ENT, who had already suspected LPR — now with data to back it.

Which dinner was it?

Marco had heartburn two or three nights a week and blamed tomatoes. His records showed the bad nights followed eating within an hour of bed, regardless of what was on the plate. Moving dinner earlier did more than cutting tomatoes.

Understanding a lab report

Anna had an H. pylori and blood panel from her GP and didn't understand the report. She photographed it, confirmed the recognized values and read an educational explanation — then wrote down three questions for her follow-up.

The PPI check-in

Tom started a PPI prescribed by his doctor. He kept logging in Refluxora for eight weeks so the follow-up visit could compare symptoms before and after — and discuss whether to continue, step down or investigate further.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

What is Refluxora?

Refluxora is an educational tracking app for GERD and LPR (silent reflux). It helps you explore meals, record symptoms including throat and voice scores, understand existing lab results and keep everything in one place, with an AI assistant and an exportable report for appointments.

What is LPR, and why does it need its own tracking?

Laryngopharyngeal reflux (LPR), often called silent reflux, is when stomach contents reach the throat and voice box. It commonly causes throat clearing, hoarseness, chronic cough, a lump-in-the-throat sensation or postnasal drip feeling — often without classic heartburn. Heartburn-only trackers miss these symptoms, so Refluxora includes throat and voice symptom scores.

Can Refluxora tell me my reflux triggers from one meal photo?

No. One photo cannot establish your personal triggers or reveal every ingredient. Refluxora gives a practical food consideration for a meal; your own triggers only become visible over time as you record meals and how you felt afterwards.

Does Refluxora diagnose GERD or LPR?

No. Refluxora does not diagnose, prescribe treatment or replace a healthcare professional. Diagnosis of GERD, LPR and related conditions is made by a clinician, sometimes with endoscopy, pH monitoring or laryngoscopy.

What does the lab result feature do?

You choose a photo of a lab result you already have. Refluxora shows the recognized values for you to confirm with one tap (edit only if needed), then gives an educational explanation and questions to discuss with your clinician. If units or reference ranges are missing from the report, they are not guessed.

Do I need to create an account?

No app account is required. After your consent, the text and photos you select are processed in the cloud. See the privacy policy linked from the App Store listing for detail.

How is Refluxora different from NoBurn or GERDBuddy?

NoBurn and GERDBuddy are solid reflux trackers with food scanning; NoBurn also has a community and recovery plans. Refluxora adds throat and voice symptom scores for silent reflux and educational explanations of existing lab results, alongside meals and symptoms in one record.

Can I use Refluxora while taking a PPI?

Yes. Many people keep tracking while on a PPI, H2 blocker or alginate prescribed by their doctor, so the follow-up visit can compare symptoms before and after. Do not start, stop or change medication based on the app — discuss it with your clinician.

How much does Refluxora cost?

In the US, Refluxora Pro is $7.99 per week with a 7-day free trial for eligible new subscribers, or $39.99 per year (billed at purchase, no trial). Local prices are shown before purchase. Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled in Apple subscription settings.

When is reflux an emergency or a reason to see a doctor soon?

Seek urgent care for chest pain (especially with shortness of breath, sweating or pain spreading to the arm or jaw — it may be cardiac), vomiting blood or material that looks like coffee grounds, black stools, or severe difficulty swallowing. See a doctor soon for trouble or pain swallowing, unintentional weight loss, persistent hoarseness over three weeks, or symptoms that continue despite treatment.
